Say No To Fuel Poverty!

PHP have been given some funding by Scottish Power Energy People Trust to help our residents to avoid being in Fuel Poverty.

Scottish Power Logo

The definition of Fuel Poverty is when a household uses more than 10% of their income to keep their home warm and comfortable. PHP is now focussing on helping residents to maximise their income and to become more energy efficient.

Our dedicated team, Karen Toft and Cath Carter will be offering the following services:

Free Welfare Benefit Finance Checks

Are you claiming all the benefits you are entitled to? Have your circumstances changed - if so you may be entitled to different benefits. PHP can arrange for a trained advisor to meet you in your own home to go through your entitlements and help with claims.

Free Energy Price Comparisons

Sticking with the same fuel supplier can be costly - loyalty doesn't always pay! If you pass us information about your current energy supplier we can carry out price comparisons to see if we can find you a better deal. If we can, we can also help you with the switch over process.

Trial a Smart Meter

Are you aware of how much energy you are using? PHP can fit a Smart Meter which will help raise your awareness of the different electrical items in your home and how much energy they use. This is a great tool to help 're-educate' you about your energy usage and remind you to switch of lights, turn off the TV when you are not in the room etc. Children will find it fascinating and we are sure they will soon get in the swing of thinking about turning things off!

You don't have to be in Fuel Poverty to try any of the above - they are free to all residents - PHP see it as a positive way of increasing household income and becoming more energy aware.
