Changing your energy supplier

Energy companies now offer a bewildering range of deals, so it's easy to become confused about what's on offer. To help you decide which is best for you, use one of the Internet price comparison services which are accredited to the Consumer Focus 'Confidence Code'. This is a voluntary code of practice for price comparison services. 

The following Price Comparison web sites have been awarded with this accreditation, as they have been able to demonstrate compliance with all nine requirements of the Confidence Code. These accredited sites now display the Consumer Focus Confidence Code logo on their site.

The independent price comparison sites help thousands of households every month to compare prices and switch to better deals. They compare your current supplier's tariffs and usage with those of all the major suppliers. They help you find the best deal and provide you with a free and easy-to-use switching service. They also give detailed information on each tariff, including gas and electricity unit prices and any discounts.

If you are not confident to use the sites yourself, you can ask for a 'Comparison Service Form' from us.  The form mirrors the questions asked on the comparison web sites and so allows us to complete the comparison for you.  We would then send the results to you in an easy to understand format.  If you'd like a 'Comparison Service Form' please email k.toft@poole.gov.uk
