Asbestos Surveys: Flats & Sheltered Schemes

From February 2009, PHP's asbestos contractor, Ethos Environmental, are surveying the common parts of blocks of flats and sheltered housing schemes.

Stock Condition Surveyor, Caroline Alexander, says, "Ethos will take samples of any materials that are suspected to contain asbestos. For example, boiler room panels, artex or floor tiles.

"We need to know if there is any asbestos present in these places to keep other contractors safe when they are doing repairs and maintenance works, e.g. lift refurbishment and lighting works etc."
