Decent Homes
One of the main objectives of Poole Housing Partnership is to meet the government's Decent Homes target by 2010.
To meet the standard every home must have reasonably modern facilities, be warm and weatherproof.
To achieve this, Poole Housing Partnership (PHP) have several programmes of work in place, that have been running since 2004 to deliver better homes to the people of Poole.
We have also developed the Poole Standard, which goes beyond the basic requirements of Decent Homes, this was negotiated and agreed with residents and is continuously updated.
The works are procured using cost-effective partnering arrangements, in order to maximise the number of improvements we can provide for our customers. As a result our contract administration costs are some of the lowest in the country, leaving more money available for improvements to residents homes.

Asbestos
To ensure the safety of our customers, and contractors while they work, we have commissioned the services of two specialist companies to deal with sampling, testing and removal of asbestos which is present in some of our properties.
Cyclical maintenance
The team also deal with cyclical maintenance and annual servicing on gas central heating and hot water systems.
Always ask for Identification
All works are carried our using only registered contractors to ensure the safety of our customers and their homes. All PHP staff and our contractor teams carry identification badges.
To protect your security and peace of mind, all operatives and staff will show their ID badges before entering your home.
Should you have any doubts about the authenticity of a card, or cardholder, please call us immediately on our Helpdesk number, see the contact details to the right of this page.
Stock Condition Surveys
Our ongoing programme of collecting stock condition surveys are key in helping the team to decide which properties are prioritised in the planned maintenance programme, in order to meet the governments "Decent Homes" targets. The team also deals with the management of the asbestos register and co-ordinating of surveys, testing and where necessary removals prior to other works being carried out.
Did you know we now have full survey data on 25% of all homes and partial data on over 20% of homes. This includes:
